Designing products for 13 years. Still just getting started.

My current role as Staff Product Designer at Brandwatch involves leading design on efforts to consolidate and unify legacy aspects of the platform — majority of which are low-clarity-high-risk initiatives. My day-to-day involves navigating ambiguity within the problem space, creating hypotheses for solutions, getting organisational alignment and helping shape the future vision for the platform.

Many years prior to this, I was part of creative studios, digital agencies and product teams — most of them local early-stage startups. Besides designing products, I’ve had to wear many hats — pushing frontend-ready code, hiring and mentoring junior designers, and creating pitch decks to raise funding.

Over the years, I've helped ship products for wonderful brands, ranging from juggernauts like Microsoft, McKinsey & Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Landmark Group and Essar; to local mom-and-pop brands you’ve never heard of.

I'm eternally grateful for every single experience.

The future of GUI design

The future of GUI design

How far are we from the futuristic interfaces depicted in sci-fi classics like Alien and 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Okay, you’ve made it this far. What’s next?
My raison d’etre? Weltanschauung?

On a lifelong journey to better my craft. And myself.

Man on a journey—that’s more than just a paraphrased translation of my name. It’s the lens through which I’ve come to view every aspect of my life.

I hail from a tiny village in Goa, but the Internet has been a great equalizer. My curiosity for design and computers took root early. Since 2009, I’ve been learning from books, blogs, podcasts and other designers. It never ends.

I’m obsessed about crafting great digital products. I was fortunate to have my early work featured in The Web Designer’s Idea Book Vol. 2 & Vol. 3, Web Design Index No. 9 and Smashing Magazine. Now that’s a start!

Morals and ethics are my north star. I will always champion for product and business decisions based on the greater good of users.

I believe in asking for forgiveness, not permission. In keeping my work legible. In having the freedom to make mistakes. In balance in every area of my life. And a bunch of other things.

I’ve been working remotely since mid-2018, long before COVID-19 made it a thing. I honestly believe it is the future.

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also read, write and take photos. I keep fit with a mix of strength training and beach soccer.

I live and work in the city of Panaji. Someday, I’ll retire to a quiet cabin by the beach.
